Even Bush’s Website is Stupid

Either I’m picky, or G.W.’s website is really stupid. Actually, it’s probably some of both. Especially a whole lot of the second one. Anyways, on the main front page (click here if you really want to see this for yourself) towards the bottom there is a poll of some sort. It’s little title image says “Quick Vote” and then the questions is, and I quote, “How many working families are benefiting from President Bush’s Jobs and Growth Act?” So right off the bat, I was excited to learn that, according to their website, my vote helps decide reality. Apparently, whichever vote wins will instantly become reality. The 4 possible answers are 12 million, 23 million, 34 million, and 18 million. Notice I’m listing them in the exact same order as the website lists them. I guess numerical order is a little hard when you can’t count. Well, there was no zero answer so I had to vote as low as I could, which would be 12 million. I selected that and hit the button marked “Submit.”

Well son of a bitch. I don’t get to see any results or anything like that. All I get to see is “Sorry, that’s incorrect.” followed by “Thirty-four million working families will receive an average of $1,549 in tax relief each year.” Well what the hell? When you vote, there are no correct or incorrect answers and this little poll thing was marked “Quick Vote“. Then again, if you think back on the 2000 election, understanding the whole idea and process of voting is probably not one of the Bush Administration’s strong suits. In addition to that, they had to spell out the number 34 to make it look a lot bigger, better, and more important.
I guess I should stop here before I get too political. Especially since I don’t care enough to bother to get political. The bottom line is I’m somewhat picky and Bush and his website are exceedingly stupid.
