That’s right, the one and only Saddam Hussein has been captured by the US military in Iraq. If you want to know more specifics or just see some really funny pictures of the old guy, check out this Reuters article. Basically, he has just been on the run because everybody has been turning on him and searching for him. Turns out that one of his family members probably told the US military the necessary information to capture him. But hey, at least Saddam got to hang out in one of his fancy dirt-mansions for a while.
So what does this mean to anybody? Well I don’t know about you, but for me it doesn’t mean a whole lot. I guess Bush (and therefore his supporters) will be happy and he’ll have more luck in next year’s election. Everybody against Bush will have to stop saying “And he hasn’t even found Saddam yet!” and start saying “Look how long it took him to find Saddam!” In Iraq, some citizens and trops will be happy, some Saddam loyalists will kill some happy citizens and troops, and the troops will still stay there for many more months just prolonging more death and destruction. Though it’s not quite as much death and destruction as there was under the reign of Saddam and that’s all that counts, right?
Well, I think I’ll refrain from trying to spread any crazy anarchistic (yes, that is a word) beliefs. If you want to know any more about the capture of Saddam, I suggest you check out this Google News search.
